Bedtime Stories with Chicago Public Library

Enjoy Destination Discovery Story Time in partnership with the Chicago Public Library. Wear your comfiest pajamas, grab your favorite stuffed animal, and join us for an after-hours museum experience designed just for our littlest patrons and caregivers! Start the evening with drawing activities and a poetry experience from Poems While You Wait, then talk, sing, and listen along to Librarian Megan who will share stories during this cozy evening of reading together. Light refreshments will be provided, and families are encouraged to bring along a blanket or cushion for comfortable seating.

Schedule:

4:30-5:30 PM / Drawing and poetry activities; drop in. Explore the galleries until 5:30 PM.

5:30-6:30 PM / Story Time with Librarian Megan from Chicago Public Library.

Poems While You Wait is a team of poets and their typewriters who provide the public with an unexpected and unpretentious encounter with poetry. The process is simple: give us your name, give us the topic that you would like us to write a poem about (funny or sad, silly or serious, big or small), and go enjoy the story-time. Upon your return you will have a custom-made, one-of-a-kind original poem to keep for yourself or to give as a gift.
