Shapeshifting and soulful instrumental jazz returns with the Nadav Rayman Trio, following the sellout launch of their second album, Sequence, a work that further develops the ensemble’s distinctive blend of contemporary soul jazz and hip-hop.
The trio – Nadav Rayman (piano), Matthew Coleman (bass) and Michael Evans-Barker (drums) – continues to explore the dynamic intersection of genres, balancing musical depth and an accessible sound.
Across two sets, the trio features guest artists: Tumi the Be (MC), Javiera Diaz (vocals) and Badoo (MC), and extended instrumental arrangements featuring Caerwen Martin (cello), Conor Magill (violin) and Chantal Marks (flugelhorn).
This is a chance to experience a vibrant showcase of Melbourne’s contemporary soul jazz and hip-hop scene, featuring entirely original compositions.
