On the first Wednesday of every month, people gather at Backroads Brewing to spend an hour together without saying a word.
That’s the premise of Silent Book Club, often called “happy hour for introverts,” and this November Nelson’s chapter celebrates two years of it. There’s no assigned reading, no homework and no discussion to prepare for. You bring a book, find a comfortable spot and read alongside others.
Join in: Silent Book Club meets the first Wednesday of every month at Backroads Brewing in Nelson. Event gathering starts at 6:30 p.m., with silent reading from 7 to 8 p.m. Non-alcoholic beverages are available, and Silent Book Club members receive 10 percent off their purchase.
