HOLIDAY JULBORD 2026 AT BJÖRK

Join us at Scandinavia House on December 12 & 13 for a Holiday Julbord (Christmas Table) presented by Björk Cafe & Bistro! A traditional Christmas in Scandinavia is not complete without the traditional julbord, a holiday variation of the quintessential Smörgåsbord buffet-style meal in the Scandinavian countries that includes multiple staples of Swedish cuisine served on the table. The actual Christmas season in Sweden usually begins with the St. Lucia ceremony, around the 13th of December, and leads all the way to Christmas day.

The Björk Julbord will feature a long buffet table overloaded with the Scandinavian classics such as herring, gravlax, meatballs, Jansson’s temptations and more, with traditional St. Lucia performances. One cup of glögg is included and will be served upon arrival, with additional non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks available for purchase. Seatings for lunch on Saturday and for lunch and dinner on Sunday will be accompanied by Lucia performances. Beverages can be pre-ordered for a 25% discount.

The lunchtime and early dinner seatings on December 12, and all seatings on December 13, are accompanied by Lucia performances with members of the Swedish community in New York. Please note that, due to popular demand, there will be two holiday concerts this year, on both December 6 and 12 at 5 PM. Advance tickets for the concert and restaurant reservations are strongly recommended to guarantee seating at this popular yearly event; simply show your digital member card at the restaurant to receive the discount.

There will also be a special Thanksgiving Prix-Fixe on Thursday, November 26 (and a Black Friday Brunch on November 28); a First of Advent special on Sunday, November 29 with warm glögg and saffron buns; and other holiday events. Learn more here.
