On Monday, November 16, 2026, Fraunces Tavern® Museum invites you to the opening of our new exhibition, Martha, The First Founding Mother Revealed. This illuminating exhibition centers on Martha Washington as a leader, role model, maternal figure, and trusted partner to her husband, George Washington. It will detail her emergence as a national figure whose influence helped shape early American ideas about leadership, patriotism, and public service.
The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include refreshments and feature Colonial Williamsburg’s nationally celebrated Martha Washington interpreter, Katharine Pittman, along with remarks from leadership of the Sons of the Revolution in the State of New York and Daughters of the American Revolution.
