Radio and Christmas have been linked together since Christmas Eve 1906, when the human voice — sharing Christmas songs and stories — was transmitted over the airwaves for the very first time. Cascade of History, the Pacific Northwest’s most popular radio program devoted to history, public affairs, and community, celebrates all things radio and Christmas with a special event and live broadcast. With beloved local radio voices, including Bill Yeend, Steve Scher, and John Maynard, we’ll share stories and songs about broadcasting and the holiday season. Featuring live music by Silas Berlin on piano, and live sound effects. The special in-person program begins at 7:30pm downstairs at Town Hall Seattle, then we’ll go live for one hour beginning at 8pm Pacific Time on SPACE 101.1 FM in Seattle and streaming everywhere via space101fm.org.
Presented by Town Hall Seattle, Cascade of History, and Space 101.1 FM.
Events are offered for informational, entertainment, and educational purposes only. Read Town Hall’s Program Content Policy.
