Does an invitation to a “movement call” audition immediately make you nervous? Do you struggle to pick up and retain choreography in auditions or rehearsals? Are you seeking more confidence in your skills as a physical storyteller? Join Katy for this series as she aims to de-mystify some cross-genre dance fundamentals through step-by-step instruction. This series will utilize somatic exercises to tune the mind-body connection, provide a series of exercises to condition the body and increase the actor’s movement vocabulary, and will provide a pressure-free space to practice learning choreography and receive individual feedback. Participants are invited to come as they are and ask all of the questions they wish they had time to ask in a dance/movement audition or choreography rehearsal setting!
