Compton rapper Westside Boogie is one of those rare emcees who\'s openly vulnerable, publicly exploring the complexity of being a Black man in America today. He originally began performing under the name Boogie in 2014, when he released his debut mixtape Thirst 48. His viral hit single, "Oh My," came soon afterwards and he\'s been winning over fans and critics ever since.

His unique, confessional storytelling style attracted the attention of veteran rapper Eminem, who signed him to his label Shady Records. The label put out his debut full-length album, Everything\'s for Sale, in 2019. Slim Shady himself rapped on Westside Boogie\'s hit single "Rainy Days," which has been streamed more than 34 million times on YouTube.

Changing his stage name from Boogie to Westside Boogie in 2020, the rapper released several singles including "Outside," a collaboration with Joe Bada$$. His second full-length album for Shady Records, More Black Superheroes, came out in 2022, featuring an impressive array of guest artists, including Soulja Boy, Snoop Dogg and Shelley FKA DRAM.
