ABOUT THE SHOW

Luminarium is a visually striking, wordless circus theatre experience blending juggling, physical comedy, and inventive stagecraft. Set in a hopeful solarpunk future, two workers arrive to restore a forgotten facility—but their mission unravels into play, discovery, and unexpected transformation. As systems fail, imagination takes over, leading to the discovery of a new kind of energy born from curiosity and connection. Playful, poetic, and accessible to all ages, Luminarium invites audiences into a luminous world where the future isn’t fixed—it’s something we can reimagine together.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Cause & Effect Circus, founded in 2013 by Chris Murdoch and Yuki Ueda, creates contemporary circus that blends innovative juggling with theatrical storytelling. The company explores social and economic themes while redefining juggling as a narrative art form.

Their award-winning productions include The New Conformity, which earned Pick of the Fringe at Victoria Fringe, and Luminarium, a solarpunk-inspired work that won Best of the Fest at Vancouver Fringe. International performances include Singapore’s Formula One Grand Prix and Cambodia’s Tini Tinou Festival.

Beyond the stage, the company supports emerging artists through community-driven projects, fostering growth and connection within Canada’s circus ecosystem.
