About

SUMMER 1976

An Arts Club Theatre Company Presentation

By David Auburn

ABOUT THE SHOW

During one extraordinary summer, free-spirited housewife Alice and serious single mother Diana forge an unlikely bond. While their young daughters play, they open up to each other about the realities of their lives and connect in ways that neither of them could have expected. From the Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright of Proof, this moving drama explores the profound impact of female friendships, and how every relationship, no matter how long it lasts, has the power to change a life forever.

Summer, 1976 is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com Originally commissioned by the Manhattan Theatre Club, Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director, Barry Grove, Executive Producer with funds provided by Bank of America and received its world premiere there on April 25 2023.
