Our commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the first women priested in the Anglican Church of Canada concludes in a celebratory Eucharist here at Christ Church Cathedral. The liturgy is marked by the diverse and varied ways in which women have exercised this ministry, in leadership, witness and faithful service, and in recognition of the barriers that have been overcome, and anticipation of the future impacts of the church. While the celebration is local, the perspective is broad, representing a church that stretches from Canadian coast to coast to coast.
The Right Reverend Ann Martha Keenainak, Suffragan Bishop, Diocese of the Arctic, presiding and The Very Reverend Catherine Short, Dean and Rector, Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Corner Brook, Newfoundland, preaching.
As with all the cathedral’s services, this is free to attend and everyone is welcome: all genders and gender identities, ordained clergy and lay people, people of all faiths.
This service will also be livestreamed to this page of the cathedral website so that you can share in worship with us wherever you are in the world.
Event presented by Christ Church Cathedral. HowDidIMissThat.com is an independent listing and does not organize this event.
