The state art museum on North Terrace, founded in 1881, holding one of Australia's largest collections: Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, European and Asian art. Entry to the collection is free; ticketed international exhibitions run alongside free shows, and the gallery hosts the Adelaide Biennial, the Ramsay Art Prize and the Tarnanthi festival.
