Friedrich August Stüler’s building on Museum Island was badly damaged in the war and rebuilt by David Chipperfield in 2009, leaving old scars and new work side by side. It houses the Egyptian Museum, home of the bust of Nefertiti, and the Museum of Prehistory and Early History, plus smaller special exhibitions.
