Museum · St. Georg
Hamburger Kunsthalle
Glockengießerwall 5, Hamburg 20095
One of Germany’s major art museums, right next to the central station by the Inner Alster, with its red-brick founding building and the white cube of the Galerie der Gegenwart. The collection spans medieval altarpieces, Caspar David Friedrich and Impressionism through to contemporary art, with several temporary exhibitions running at once. An underground passage links the buildings.
