In the heart of Villeurbanne's Gratte-Ciel district, the Théâtre National Populaire is one of France's major public theatres, heir to Jean Vilar and Roger Planchon. Its two halls stage new productions, classics, family shows and a few concerts, with sign-language performances and post-show talks.
