National museum founded in 1867, sharing the great palace on Calle Serrano with the National Library and fully renovated in 2014. It traces the history of the Iberian Peninsula from prehistory to the early modern age, with famous pieces such as the Lady of Elche and the Treasure of Guarrazar.
