A former military site converted by architect Ricardo Bofill in 1989, the Arsenal Jean-Marie Rausch is Metz's main concert hall, known for its acoustics. It hosts the Orchestre national de Metz Grand Est, jazz, dance and musical theatre, with a 1,311-seat Grande Salle and the 352-seat Salle de l'Esplanade.
