The country's main opera and ballet house, in a monumental 1930s building on a hill above the Svislach river. The repertoire covers Verdi, Puccini and Tchaikovsky operas, the big classical ballets and Belarusian works, with concerts in the Chamber Hall. Each December it hosts the Minsk International Christmas Opera Forum.
