A red-and-gold Italian-style opera house in Old Nice, steps from the Cours Saleya and the Promenade des Anglais, opened in 1885. It is home to the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, Chorus and Ballet, with operas, ballets and symphonic concerts, plus chamber music, talks and shows for toddlers in its foyer.
