Facing Osaka Castle above the site of the ancient Naniwa Palace, the museum walks visitors down through the city's history floor by floor, from antiquity to the 20th century. Small themed displays change every month or two on the 8th floor and special exhibitions fill the 6th; the windows look out over the castle and the palace ruins.
