MCASD occupies a seaside site on Prospect Street in La Jolla, with galleries and a sculpture garden looking toward the Pacific. It shows postwar and contemporary art, with a focus on Southern California, Latin American and border-region artists. Rotating exhibitions are paired with a permanent collection of several thousand works.
