The San Diego Museum of Art is the anchor of Balboa Park's El Prado, in a Spanish Revival building that opened in 1926. Its collection runs from European Old Masters and Spanish painting to Asian, American and modern art. Photography shows are presented jointly with the Museum of Photographic Arts across the plaza.
