定禅寺通りのケヤキ並木に面した、伊東豊雄設計の複合文化施設。チューブ状の柱がガラスの床を貫く建築で知られ、市民図書館、ギャラリー、映像音響ライブラリー、スタジオシアターが入る。市民団体の展覧会や上映会に加え、自主企画の展覧会や映画祭、対話の場「てつがくカフェ」を開いている。
